Hi all, i figured having a thought/story of the day to ponder about might be useful, so i shall start with a story first:
An old farmer lives with his son. He was crippled with arthritis and his son did most of the work around the farm.
One day, his son was out tilling the ground when lightning struck near the mules. The mules bolted and ran off. Without the mules, the old farmer and his son would not be able to get their crops in, as they were barely making ends meet as it was. The whole town were sympathetic "Such bad luck" they said. But the old farmer said, "Good luck, bad luck, who knows?"
The next day, the mules came running home and behind them was a whole herd of wild horses. The farmer and his son, knowing that horses were worth alot of money, seized the opportunity and closed the gates, sealing the horses in their farm lot. This time, the whole town came out to congratulate him, "Such good luck!", but the old farmer simply said "Good luck, bad luck, who knows?"
The next day, the son rode on one of the wild horses and got thrown of it. As a result, he got a broken arm and collarbone. This time, the whole town came out and said, "Such bad luck". The old farmer simply said "Good luck, bad luck, who knows?"
The very next day, the army marched through town and conscripted every able-bodied man. Of course they did not take the farmer's son. Many young men died in the war that ensued.
You just never know what is good luck and what is bad luck. But what we can choose is to face every single thing we encounter with an attitude of gratitude, just like the old farmer, for we never know, "Good luck, bad luck, who knows?"

Good luck stems from good decisions and bad luck stems from bad decisions
